Choosing between a villa and a resort style blind.

Living in a tropical part of the world is a very great way to live.  A lot of people spend vacation going on a tropical area but if you are in one, it’s like you are on a vacation all year long.  Vacationers spend a lot of money just to stay in a nice and cozy room – and it costs a lot.  You, on the other hand, can make your home like a vacation house with a few redecorating.  You can even transform it to a resort or villa style to enjoy all throughout the year.

The cozyness of villas and resorts can easily be duplicated in your own home.  First, you must decide whether you are going for a villa style or a resort one.  Differentiating the two, the former is more of a natural look while the latter is more of a classy and clean look.

One of the things vacationers look for in a room is the window, and it will be a good start for your redecorating project.  Being on vacation, they want to see the view of the surroundings from their room while still establishing privacy whenever they want.  Installing a blind in your window will easily replicate such effect of a villa or resort.

As mentioned earlier, a villa type design goes for a more natural look.  Choose colors within the shades of brown, white, blue, green and yellow.  Exposed timber batons and the like can be considered for a more relaxed and natural look.  The important thing when going for a villa atmosphere is that it is relaxing and blends in with the surrounding of the house.

A resort type design of a blind is more neat, clean and classy.  The most recommended color is white because it gives a look of cleanliness and neatness although lighter shades of grey and other light colors can also be used as long as natural light can pass through.  A hint of metal or aluminium for the ribs of the roman blind adds a touch of class.

Whether you are going for a villa or resort design, the fabric is very important.  They must have a natural soft texture and avoid using hard and flat look.

Now that you are done with the blinds, you can now work on the other aspects of your house to make it your vacation house for all year round.
